Tasting: Clos du Bois Merlot: 2016

Wine Tasting: Clos du Bois

Variety: Merlot
Region: California
Country: USA
Year: 2016
Price: $12.99

Winery Review: Aromas of black cherry, brown spice, and light toasty oak. In the mouth, the wine has a rich texture with concentrated blackberry fruit and notes of mocha.

My Review: I really liked this Merlot, it has a strong presence of a combination of bright and dark fruits like pomegranate and blackberries as the winery suggests. There are some slight spicy tastes such as toasted nuts, however these flavors are not predominant. I loved the full body that the wine has, with plenty of tannins, but extremely silky, velvety, and smooth. It left a really good mouth feel.
